Synopsis
Katy's school is celebrating Grandparents Day, and Katy is nervous. She doesn't want to introduce her grandpas in front of the class because she's worried that nobody will understand her lisp. To make matters worse, when Katy tells her teacher that she's inviting her gay and married ''grampas,'' her teacher thinks she means to say grandma and grandpa instead of grandpa and grandpa.

A perfect purchase for your two to six year olds, new parents, baby showers, and more! Katy Has Two Grampas by Julie Schanke Lyford depicts the gentle, nurturing relationship of a gay grampas and their little granddaughter Katy. In this sweet children book, the flowing lines of Julie Schanke Lyford, warm and beautiful illustration of Mariia Luzina work in concert with Robert A Schanke’s rhythmic text.

There should be more books like these. Perfect little book to show your little ones. It does teach them about diversity as it shows that some families have two grampas and they function just like any other family. It is great for children who have two grampas and all other children as well. For a child with two grampas it will help them portray themselves and identify their family environment as being conventional. The child in the book could be of either gender which is also really good as you can adapt to both scenarios.
