Synopsis
A Punjabi Californian Love Story.
After his separation from his childhood sweetheart Mahi, the headstrong but heartbroken Indo, gets involved with Jasleen, the free-spirited daughter of a wealthy, domineering family. But just as their relationship begins to blossom, an unexpected turn of events brings chaos into their lives and intertwines Indo's past with his present.

My Thoughts
A Rhyme and a Reason comprises an amazing love story coming from a Punjabi family that forces the now ordinary and practical meaning of love to change into its illogical and irrational self it once used to be. Punjabi culture were addressed clearly, how change is necessary to break these traditions and barriers. An exposition of Sufi philosophy, story possesses both the calm and the storm of true love, a love that consumes the body and the heart, a love that goes beyond all common sense, a love better known as junoon (intense passion), that finally culminates in ibaadat (worship) and the love of God. Ik Jagait succinctly encapsulates the rich cultural and literary heritage Punjab is so famously synonymous with. A Rhyme and a Reason brings alive the forgotten magic of folklore that will tug at all the right strings of the heart, once again. Drama, romance, tragedy and history are interwoven in the form of an exquisite tapestry. Vocabulary used by author is top notch. In my opinion there are many moral values we can learn if we carefully dissect the characters of the stories. I did feel transported to another time and place of Traditional Punjabi culture, culture of love, beauty, and bravery.

In the age of digital dating where love has lost its sanctity, we still pine for a love saga which makes us believe in love and rich Punjabi culture once again. This book offers one of this kind story. The author has accomplished in making the reader feel all the good/bad that the protagonist did. It is a well written book and the beauty of it shall remain long after one finishes it.

The book touches on some of the most pressing issues facing society today. Great book, which touches on a number of issues and keeps the reader engaged. Thoroughly recommend and can't wait for the next one!

Highly Recommended!
