Synopsis
When a dark past riddled with lies and murder comes to collect......

Clio Hyde, an emergency room doctor at Celestial Medical Center, treats the injured, helps the weak, and upholds the canons of the pack. She thought she had seen it all, witches, elves, and fairies—until a victim of an assassination attempt is brought in with an unusual wound to prove her wrong. Clio calls the pack’s police force, the Enforcers, to investigate and comes face to face with Captain Wolt, his rich cinnamon eyes, and unyielding will. After admiring him from afar, her carefully crafted world starts to unravel when she’s drawn into the investigation and begins to rely on the captain’s strength. Clio finds herself wanting more and fearing getting hurt.

Captain of Enforcers, Ansel Wolt, has a lifetime of secrets he has kept from the Cascade pack. Motivated by the ghosts haunting him he builds walls of protection and navigates through life untethered. His defenses are threatened when an enemy from his dark past targets those around him, endangers his relationship with Dr. Hyde, and leaves a swath of blood in their wake. Ansel must protect his pack, but it means risking exposing his lies and losing their trust. Can he find his enemies before the territory and those close to him pay the ultimate price? Will Clio and Ansel’s desire for one another survive the threats surrounding them or will they become the next victims?

My Thoughts
I waited impatiently for this book to be released - and I couldn't put it down once I got it! Fate can be fickle, and the seer's words are true, but follow your heart and things will still work out, even if it takes a thousand years to come full circle. Crimson Moon by M.A. Kastle is definitely different from the other dark romance urban fantasy books I have read, but I absolutely loved this book. There’s action, suspense, romance (for romance lovers like myself) the build up to Clio and Ansel’s finally accepting being mates wasn't could’ve been better. I loved the history bits included in this. I’m not from that part of the world so that was interesting and thought it was fascinating. Very descriptive. Also, I LOVE Clio and Ansel they both were my favorite characters. In this final book we see our hero venture on a task to protect his pack or will the enemies succeed in thwarting the plans? Lots of locations visited and clues put together. I have no idea how Kastle figures all this stuff out. There is a sad part and I almost cried. I pray I don't have nightmares because I'm claustrophobic. The details of that scene were pretty traumatic. That would be my worst nightmare!

I would’ve liked the epilogue to have taken a different route, but all in all it’s an awesome book. And will continue to see what other books this author will come up with. Loved this story line and character development.

Highly Recommended!
