Synopsis
In this debut collection of poetry, r.c. perez takes us on a journey of pain, hope, acceptance, and love-one that is all too familiar to anyone who has had a bit of experience in life. Divided into four chapters, magic of the modest is about all the magic we find in the ordinary and how sometimes, life's greatest lessons are found in the simplest of things. It is the author's aspiration that through this book, readers will realize that there is magic in carrying on, in looking forward, in letting it be, and in loving with all one's being.
My Thoughts
We all go through losses in our lives and suffer pain from them, some of us for only brief periods and some forever. R. C. Perez has written my soul in the "Magic of the Modest " capturing the essense of all grieving hearts and the suffering of anyone who is in pain, whether physical or mental. Anyone who reads this will identify with the ups and downs, the despair, and the joy of the brief remissions as we try to color our own days. I must say , this is an exceptional book on chronic pain, hope, acceptance, and love-one that is all too familiar to anyone who has had a bit of experience in life. When I read it, I felt like there was someone out there that could relate to how I feel. It was as though the book was about me. I think it is beautifully written and expresses the impact of chronic pain, both physically and emotionally. Those who suffer from pain and their family must read this book. I would like to thank R. C. Perez for taking the time to write this amazing piece of poetic literature.
"Magic of the Modest " is raw yet very inspirational, dealing with the problems of everyday life. The prose and the poems seek to warm your heart and touch your soul. If you have ever had problems and challenges in life, heartaches, pain, love, or losing a love one, then this book is for you. "Magic of the Modest " seeks to inform you, motivate you, and inspire you to think about life and the goodness of heart wrenching poetries.
The language used is simple, and that is one reason why this book has my heart. It is so easy to understand and without a strong and simple language, poets can't win the hearts.
This book in overall is a must read.
