Synopsis
On The Line is a collection of poems written by D Newman about navigating through the ups and downs of her mental health struggles in her 20’s. The title “On The Line” represents the poet leaving all her emotions on the lines her poems are written on. The poems touch on subjects such as sexual assault, depression, and childhood trauma. From the beginning of the book to the end you get taken along on her healing journey. On The Line shows you what it is like for someone to pull themselves out of darkness and push themselves into the light.

My Thoughts
Rest In Peace
Have you ever had a funeral for the living?
mourning who they could have been
if they just tried a little harder
dug a little deeper
I have
I have laid flowers on the graves of those still breathing
my love for them buried because it hurt too much
forgetting the features of their face
and with one click
I could remember
but its better this way
them living
but dead to me
