The Fork by Philip Dollar is an amazing journey of the authors himself in which he share all his ups and downs, from childhood, college dropout, apart of the Marine Corps and later as a business owner. It explores that Understanding the inevitable ups and downs in your life is a great starting point in building more equanimity and inner peace. Pay closer attention to your mood, and you’ll find there are many small ups and downs we experience nearly everyday. It’s a part of life.
This book clearly defines that Without setbacks, the reward at the end of a journey wouldn't be nearly as sweet. So enjoy the ups and work through the downs all while remembering that life is about the trip, not the destination. Its a beautiful and heart-wrenching narrative of the great author's life but the essence of it is universal. Such an amazing journey captured in a few words. This is a book that ignites the flame of empowerment through tenacity and perserverance.
