Review : The last Temptation of Guillaume by Guillaume Andry

The last Temptation of Guillaume

by Guillaume Andry

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My Rating 4.4/5

Synopsis

Guillaume a newly retired CEO has the ambition to write a novel with the help of Esther who is her therapist and would accept to coach him. Esther is 27 years old; she is a lovely young Latin American girl living in Brussels all by herself. Guillaume has still to go to Munich for a last business meeting. He is spending the night with a Russian escort girl recruited via an online agency. He does not want to make love with her but ask her to cooperate with him on his new project (the writing of his novel) .
Covid-19 put the entire north European countries in forced quarantine after Italy was facing a terrible epidemic and France was having the first victims mid-March 2020.
We are engaging fully in the melodrama of the journey on writing a book and then in between the experience things will get some twists around.
Life will get more and crazier around it with broken morals and broken hopes by adding more suspense and making it to the extremes of moral , immoral, fate and experiences.

My Thoughts

First of all I would like to preface this review by saying that I did not pick this book up voluntarily. My friend recommended to read this book as soon as possible and I was very if-y about wanting to actually read it.

When I picked the book up I disliked it at first because the narration is so different from anything I have ever read. However, when you get into the story it becomes so addictive!

As usual I don’t’ want to get into any spoilers because this is a book you want to go into fresh. It’s morbidly fascinating, despite being soul crushing at times. It’s an experience that will stick with you for a while after you turn the last page. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone. If your looking for a light enjoyable read I would give it a pass but otherwise pick it up ASAP!

Highly Recommended!!
