Synopsis

For thousands of years, Prayer, Quotes, Adages and Poetry (Technitai Dionusou) have inspired some of the wisest people of our world. Within this Dionysian Pagan Quote journal, John Auletta has expressed his world views, worldly spirituality and wisdom in the essence of Quotes, Adages, Metaphoric wisdom, and Poetry in hopes to inspire the Dionysian Pagan community in a way that his words embody the beauty and knowledge of the ancient ways (Technitai Dionusou). His unique word play evokes a mental picture, you might say that his Quotes, Jewels, Adages and Poetry embody the phrase 'a Mask is worth a thousand Faces.' Many old familiar Quotes and Adage soon become clichéd and overused. So John has made it his job to adopt some old-style Quotes, repolishing them with his own unique Dionysian twist, giving the old Quote immortality through his new ecstatic wording. However, the majority of other Quotes are original created by him. You can say that this book is a Dionysian testament of his desires, passing thoughts, wisdom and beliefs in forms of beautiful Quotes, Esoteric Adages, Prayers and Erotic Poetry. He tries to express things that are inexpressible.Guaranteed, You'll come to know Dionysus and His many aspects through the Dramatic Arts of John Auletta's wisdom. "The ecstatic wisdom and experiences of Dionysus, like the god Himself, is always rebirthed from its own ashes."- John Auletta

My Thoughts

Terribly interesting to read in it's own right, this book will level the head of anyone who is new to Greek mythology. Follow it up and you'll have your spiritual cap screwed on tight enough to withstand the sea of occult books out there that seek to do little beyond part you with your money. I wish this book was around when I was a teen. This isn't to say that I regret any of my past. But a scholarly shot in the arm would have prevented the let down I experienced as the realities of who Dionysus really was and the real history of Dionysus  unfolded.

This solidly researched text will serve as an important resource for those interested in Classical Greek culture and the roots of modern Western civilization, including the symbolic meaning of many references in Greek art and literature.

The author attempts to reconstruct the wisdom and meanings of Dionysian quotes, Poetries and rituals. He explores the word to word writings and activities of Dionysian worshipers and attempts to put them in proper chronological order. He also relates the meanings and activities and essence of Dionysus worshipers through history. The motivation from the work came from a desire to actually participate in the rituals and those with similar desires are the primary intended audience.

John Karneios Auletta writing is colorful, provocative, and always thoroughly researched studies on original subjects. This work is no exception. It will appeal to anyone interested in Dionysus , nature , spirituality and religions.

Highly Recommended!!
