Synopsis
You’re beautiful beyond what the eyes can see….Chocolate Angel was teased and bullied for being rich chocolate and how she looked. She became angry because she just wanted to be lighter in color and look beautiful. Her mother always reassured her that beauty is in your character. Being kind, humble, loyal, and being of service to others is your inner beauty which shines to your outer beauty. She always looked in the mirror to build her confidence and one day she believed she was beautiful no matter what others felt about her. She even had the opportunity to stand up against the bullies for her friends and this made her feel amazing! This book is for any child or adult who has been teased as a child and may be holding those thoughts inside your being: let them go!! You are More than enough and you are beautiful beyond what the eyes can see.

My Thoughts
This book seriously resonated with me, which I’m sure added to my enjoyment.  But I loved that there was a character that happened to be a girl, but who wasn’t judged for being one.  It was kind of nice/refreshing, you know?  She’s a great lovely and beautiful character (regardless of gender) because her entire existence was ‘you know what? She just wanted to be lighter in color and look beautiful. Her mother always reassured her that beauty is in your character.

Being kind, humble, loyal, and being of service to others is your inner beauty which shines to your outer beauty. Be you, and love who you are and what you got’  And that’s a lesson that we all need to keep close to heart, you know?   Be okay with you.  Everyone else is already taken.

The toddler’s reaction means more than mine, so I’ll tell you that he liked it, although he cared more about the illustration than the story sometimes, which is a little sad.  This book had a great message. What a delight! I just adore Chocolate Angel and amazing illustrations.

Highly Recommended!
