The Bystander by Kanvi Bhavsar and Nikita Balachandran is a brilliantly written book. It had me jumping at every sound around me, I was literally immersed in this story. For me story is stuffed with a lot of suspence. The stuff of nightmares. Petrifying. Tense. Dark. Brutal. Deathly.
I loved Kanvi Bhavsar's The Bystander ,this is always fast paced and gripping from the first sentence right to the last word and although this one has 368 pages this book is just as gripping. The characters and the way that they react to the situations that they find themselves in are very believable and as a reader you can feel the fear and terror that a couple of the characters experience. The book also has a very good twist at the end that i certainly did not see coming. I think this book could be made into a film,so if you want to spend a couple of hours reading a really gripping thriller with a wonderful twist then i recommend you buy this book and because it is one of the quick read series, it only costs 5 dollars ,curl up in your favourite reading chair with a nice drink, turn off all the phones and enjoy.
One can’t help but be impressed by Bhavsar’s skill. This Indian writer’s attention to detail and empathy are impressive. No story is so compelling that it can’t survive a bad telling; no concept is so clichéd that it can’t benefit from a new, fresh and gifted voice.
Having read the book once I was compelled to read it again, enjoying the special pleasure of noting clues missed or misinterpreted the first time. Certain books are so good that they remind you of the vast pleasures good writers can give you if you’re willing to pay them attention. If you can stand the chill, “The Bystander” is a delicious spring treat.
