Synopsis

When 15 year old Reagan is transferred to Millsbridge High, she has no idea how drastically her life is going to change. She’s identified immediately by some of her new classmates as someone who has “disrupted the earth’s magnetic field.” But there are strong forces at play, stronger than any of them could have anticipated.
Using technology which has been passed down through bio-digital algorithmic DNA, a series of seemingly invincible people are born –preternatural men, women and children hiding in plain sight. Reagan is one of them. One Preternatural, Theanah, has returned from the future and is out to destroy the world. And there’s only one who can possibly prevent that from happening.
As the epic battle for domination begins, a fracture between now and a future worlds away is formed. Theanah’s nefarious ambitions brings the planet to the brink of doom. Will the combined forces of a group of gifted, technologically-created, preternatural teens be able to save it? Or will their inability to cope lead them all to fall alone?
My Thoughts
If you haven't really read YA sci-fi fantasy before, or mostly read realistic books rather than speculative ones, this one is for you this is highly focused on character journeys with just a smidge of speculativeness!
is a book that enchants you with interesting chapters and compelling characters. But it leaves you emotionally attached with this book at the end. Seriously. It’s one of those books that is deceptive in how good it is. XXIV: Unbreakable: Find a Limit break it destroyed me. The only thing I can liken it to is like by being slowly pulled into a black hole. I orbited around slowly moving closer.
I loved every single character and then there was this tipping point in the story where I just fell into the heart of the black hole. I was completely immersed in the blackness of the interesting story, the way the story took a twist that wrung my heart out to dry, and the ending. Part of me is still in that black hole wondering what to do next really.
And finally the writing. Not only does Unbreakable consists of chapters that make the book fly by, Angel’s writing is gorgeous. You easily get into that game of trying to get to the end of the next chapter. Each one draws you in stronger and faster than the previous one. Paired with Angel's writing and you get a wining combination. There are lines that are so stunning, so elegant, so paired down, that you need to take a moment to appreciate them. Whether it is from sheer beauty, or just plain spoken wisdom, this book is littered with my highlights.
Angel's storytelling is as polished as ever, brimming with wit, action, and heart
