Synopsis
In the historical city of Kyoto, Ames, his sisters, and their friends discover a baby tiger in the small store house in their garden. Could this cub be related to the White Tiger, one of the Mythical Beasts? Together, the children embark on an adventure following mysterious clues, to reunite the baby with his mother. Finding Byakko is the first book in the 'Magical Adventures in Kyoto' trilogy.

My Thoughts
No matter how old you are, it’s never too early to start reading magical Adventure fantasy — especially with incredible work like Magical Adventures in Kyoto: Finding Byakko by Lin de Leeuwerk And of course, bolstered by a kid’s imagination, this story truly comes to life… which arguably makes children the ideal audience for the genre. But we think there's something for everyone in Magical Adventures in Kyoto: Finding Byakko . This was my first book by Lin de Leeuwerk . I enjoyed this book a lot . It is adventurous flushed with magic and even full of curiosity . It also teaches us about our rich culture. The book itself is well written. The story and characters are good. The world building is superb. I loved this book. It is set in a large, detailed, and rich culture-filled world that made me feel like I was there while I was reading it. The book also has many likable characters. 

I was unsure what to expect when I started this book, needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love reading Adventure literature that has this beautiful plotline and the Magical Adventures in Kyoto: Finding Byakko  was no exception, the wonder and pureness of it never fails to transport me into days gone by. Ames is a funny, likeable character who’s thoughts actions and conversations are so wonderfully innocent that I immediately fell in love with him. His character evolution throughout the book made reading this a true delight. My only complaint is that I didn’t read this sooner. I honestly believe that anyone can read this book regardless of age, there’s something that everyone can take away from reading this.

Highly Recommended! Looking forward to reading the second installment of the series.
