Synopsis
While helping her own friends, Cody Zimmerman and Erik Blonsky, Trishta has been tackling her own problems. When Trishta is dragged out of bed late one night to see her boyfriend, Kyle Branthurst, say goodbye to her for the last time, Trishta is overwrought with grief. As the years would go on, she would make many friends and lose many more, keeping the facade of a happy-go-lucky girl who puts others before herself. Struggling to move on, she decides to one day reflect on the impact she’s had on the lives of others, putting everything on a timeline to further organize her thoughts. After years of keeping it all to herself, this is Trishta’s time to tell her story. And in doing so, she hopes to once again impact the lives of those who will listen to the words she has written down.
My Thoughts
I remember reading Trishta a few days back and finding it a heartbreaking read, this one is an emotional story , but one with an uplifting background. I think people will be able to relate to Trishta and her friends' stories. I found Trishta to be very inspiring and I really liked what she did for not just with her life but for the people that became her friends. Such a beautiful and inspiring story, one that will stay with me forever. It was impossible not to cry at some of the events but although love is in itself a emotional subject, the story also had lighter moments with lovely touches of humour. Ultimately, it was a tale of hope and of moving forward after a bereavement and finding a new 'normal'. I thoroughly enjoyed this book - both the highs and the lows, and what could have been a very depressing story actually turned out to be uplifting and positive.
As always, the style of writing from Gabriel Schlegel is a joy to read. He honestly never disappoints me and I will continue to read anything he writes. He manages to blend humour and heartache seamlessly and although I would recommend having tissues nearby for when you finish this book, you will not regret reading this great storyline with an amazing character building. This book is heartwarming and emotional in equal measure and a must read for anyone who loves Gabriel Schlegel.
Feeling very emotional but satisfied after binge reading this beautiful book. This book is written with tenderness and understanding. It's a heart warming story. Anyone who has to say goodbye to someone who knows they are dying inside should read this book. It gives you hope and lots of love.
