Synopsis
Between Tads and Toads is an illustrated story in verse for adults about pretty frog Frederic who struggles to fit in with the pondling society of toads, frogs and tads. Set by a pond in the idyllic British countryside where everything rhymes, life is an endless parade of picnics, swimming races and all things nice, except for Frederic.
My Thoughts
The minds of humans are very impressionable especially children, which is why it is so important to consistently provide them with books about why it’s important to love one’s self. Between Tads and Toads is the best children’s books for all ages themed around self-esteem, personal value, and staying true to oneself. Book is carefully written for its overall message, most importantly, but also its storyline, illustrations, amongst both children and parents. This classic picture book is about pretty frog Frederic who struggles to fit in with the pondling society of toads, frogs and tads. Self-esteem, self-worth, and self-image are all counterparts of the umbrella term ‘Self-love.’ They are constructs that denote the way we look at ourselves, perceive ourselves as individual entities, and portray our personalities to the world. Confidence is the key to a fulfilling life, and having high self-esteem is where it all begins. Through Between Tads and Toads we can help ourselves and our children to develop a booming self-system.
This book is a great one to spark conversation about a childs constant struggles about self image and fitting in, A simple, stylishly illustrated and appealing book. This book is so incredibly great! I saw another teacher had it and it made me think of a few select students who would really benefit from hearing a story like this! Kiddos need to know their feelings are valid and they don't need to fit in and it's about how to deal with those feelings.
Love this book! We received it from a friend for our son and now will be buying it for every little boy we know
