Synopsis
George is a legendary hero... wait, no. George is an incredibly powerful sorcerer... also no? Okay, fine. George is an unremarkable human bard who made a promise a long time ago. A promise that set him on a path to find the remains of Simantiar, the greatest wizard who ever lived.

My Thoughts
This latest epic fantasy adventure piece The Fantastically Underwhelming Epic: Of a Dead Wizard and an Average Bard By Kian Ardalan is an absolute literary adventure! The tone throughout the story is very powerful even from the beginning where it presents vivid imagery of a mighty George is an incredibly powerful sorcerer. The story uses simplicity intricately, to develop characters and help define the setting. I love the atmosphere author has created with the main character George must work his way through to find the remains of Simantiar, the greatest wizard who ever lived. This book is a very fun and engaging read! If you want a new title that is exciting, adventurous, magical, and enchanting I would highly recommend The Fantastically Underwhelming Epic: Of a Dead Wizard and an Average Bard ! 

This book was my first look at Kian Ardalan's work, and I'm intrigued for more. In this first book, he creates an in depth fantasy world full of action pack Adventure, through the eyes of George who is an unremarkable human bard who made a promise a long time ago, accompanies him on a journey that has many twists and turns. This book sets up a larger plot in an effective manner, leaving plenty of mystery while giving us some insight into the world these characters live in. His descriptions are vivid, characters unique and interesting, and the story itself, while somewhat minimalist, leaves me interested to see what will unfold in the future. 

Overall, I'm looking forward not only to going deeper into this story, but in reading more from the author as well. A great read if you're looking for an engaging, fast paced action pack fantasy adventure. I'll be watching for the next book!
