This book has been hand crafted to deliver a message to the reader that everything will be alright. Everyone can use and refer to this book during those difficult times in life through an engaging storyline. Nothing can truly prepare you for life's devastating moments. The hurt becomes less over time. Focus on your own future now and go onward. Life isn't going to stop, nor should you. It's an amazing tale of Cammie, a dancer in her mid-thirties, has just landed her first part in a show since coming to New York City. Yet the tug of familial obligation and the guilt of what she sacrificed to be there weigh down her dancing feet. Her lover, Tom, an older piano player, came to the city as a young man in the 1980s with a story eerily in tune with Cammie's own.
This is one of those books that you finish, look around and wonder how the whole world is still spinning the way it was when you started. I finished it a few minutes ago and have had to sit quietly and digest what I just read. And now, I feel like, knowing what I know, I have to go back and read it again. The characters are colorful, some are a bit bumbling and out of their comfort zones. All are integral and are pieces of the huge puzzle that takes a decade to put together.
I could write my own book about this story, but all I will say is that if you love Gregory Erich Phillips's books and have not read this one yet, please make it your business to do this as soon as you can.
