Synopsis
A woman is detained by authorities after a terrorist attack, sending her on a twisting path from London to Afghanistan in this emotionally powerful saga.

When Laila and her lover, Faisal, are detained after the 2005 terrorist attack in London, it sets in motion a chain of events that will alter Laila’s life forever.

After being held in solitary confinement for months, Laila is released back into the world without charge, a woman changed beyond recognition. When she decides to leave the country and travel to Pakistan to look for her elusive father, Laila is reunited with Faisal in Peshawar—but the romance is short-lived when she finds herself kidnapped and taken to Afghanistan, leaving her sad, angry, and uncertain if she will ever find her place in the world and the freedom she craves . . .

From the author of Ella’s War and The Train, InVisible is a poignant look at how we treat each other and the judgments we make that explores the question of whether freedom always comes at a price.

My Thoughts
No surprise, Sarah Bourne has written another exciting book! The action is just what you’d expect, the intrigue is present throughout, and the character development is solid. Sarah Bourne’s plot is right out of the inside knowledge and expert analysis of current events and terrorist attack. It is clear Sarah Bourne has done exhaustive research and mastered the topics of national security and terrorism. Grab a blanket because you’ll feel the cold winds and icy conditions. Some hot cocoa might be required as you race through the pages to see what comes next, or maybe a glass of fine bourbon. When you reach the end one thing is for sure. You’ll definitely want to re-read it.

Truely 2021 has been the craziest year on record but 9 months into it, I didn't think anything else could surprise or shock me... but this book did! It was incredible for all the same reasons that Sarah books always are, but this one also felt like it was happening or about to happen all around me, even as I was reading it! Almost like if I kept reading, it was sure to occur! Sarah has added another diamond to my library. Best one yet from Sarah Bourne! I could not put it down!!
Setting the World of terrorism. I loved how she weaved in what has been happening in Afghanistan from many years. Her writing style has been getting better with each book. She is the real deal!!

I must say Sarah Bourne has done it again. Well written, fast paced and interesting right to the end! What more could be asked for a thriller. I am the proud owner of InVisible and other books by Sarah Bourne.

Highly Recommended!
