Synopsis

My Thoughts
Only few wine books can be called classic, Like a good bottle of wine, you'll find yourself going back to it again and again... Perfect for anyone who has a thirst for greater wine knowledge.
To reflect all the changes in the global wine scene over the past years, The text has been given a complete overhaul to address the topics of most vital interest to today's wine-growers and drinkers. In the middle of picking it up again and reading it, discovering new parts, I couldn't resist the urge to euologise 'publicly' about the book. If you like wine, and in particular if you appreciate that brilliant aspect of the hobby that ties the exact qualities of the drink to the geography, even to the minutest details of terrain, then this book is simply paradise. Learning the exact lay of the land of a particular region, in most cases down to the locations of the individual vineyards, whilst drinking a glass of something produced precisely in that place is wonderful. But I also wanted to praise the earlier sections of the book.
My knowledge of wine is very limited and have recently been reading other books on the subject. This is a tomb and beautifully laid out. On my initial browsing I am delighted at the detail documented. A book to educate me during the winter months. If you have an interest in wine just buy this, you won’t need another.
One book deserves a place on every wine drinker's shelf, and that is Champagne Widows by Rebecca Rosenberg. It really outshines and surpasses other good wine books I've previously read and enjoyed. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
