My Thoughts
Okay, hear me out: I’m a firm believer that some of the best company you can keep is yourself. No one is going to love you the way you love yourself, and that self-love trickles into every other aspect of your life, making it sufficiently better than if you didn’t have true, or at least a decent amount of, self-acceptance. It sounds corny, but it's true! If you need a hand in that area, or appreciate a good reminder, Disharmony: a Jigsaw Collection of Misguided Dating is so inspiring that you’ll actually want to reread it (or lend it to your friends, because it could probably use a reminder, too).
This book really resonated with me on a deeper level compared to “Where is my man?” I highlighted a lot and it helped me understand why my ex-boyfriend was NOT the one for me and gave me insight on why he behaved a particular way. I learned a lot about how to trust your intuition and that it’s rarely ever wrong. When it comes to dating, as women (some not all, don’t want to generalize), we often know as early as the first date or phone call that this man is not it...yet we ignore it. This book will tell you the harsh truths that you need to hear so that you can begin to heal and grow as a person. I love the Christian aspect of this book.
Overall , This book is absolutely amazing. I love a book that makes me looks myself in the mirror and say, Girl, the one you with isn't the one. lol. I love the powerful points in this book, it's an assembly of short stories, poems and art pieces that represent the highs and lows of a woman? I am 30 years old and at this point we have No time for games. Ladies, you are going to enjoy this book. Honey, grab a glass of wine, sit back and take notes.
