Synopsis
We often dig to find ourselves. To find the truth of who we are. The truth of what we can become. This is memoir about a life that was almost lost. A story about the digging to find it. About the hole that is left wide open. About the way we try to fill it. And about what grows in the space it left behind.
My Thoughts
A lot of people will roll their eyes when they hear the words “self-discovery” or “finding yourself”. And, yes, there is plenty of wishy-washy “advice” out there with absolutely no basis in fact or real-life experience. But there are some books about self-discovery that can really help change the way you think about your life. These books can comfort, inspire and motivate as readers on similar journeys rifle through their pages. What Grows in the Space It Left Behind: A Memoir by H Saint James is one those amazing self-discovery books that I believe is worth their salt. Truly inspiring, educational, but this will definitely going help you feel a little less lost.
The author alternates between telling the reader about her journey and the significant events in her life that brought her to this concious understanding. We learn about her suffering and how she acted. I really cherished the time spent reading this one. Somehow 310 pages weren’t enough for me and I wanted it go on and on something which is impossible!
To read this book is to understand how a life is built. In dark, there is light. Everything in H Saint James’s life and remarkable memoir uncovers the dark—the hell of the unhappy self and the hell of inadequate help—and brings us into the light.
Powerful and intimate . . . Saint James ably guides readers along her roller-coaster life as she conquers everything she ever wanted.
Highly Recommended!
