The night before us by Neil McGregor

The night before us

by Neil McGregor

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My Ratings 4.4/5

Synopsis
Neil McGregor rebuilds a time and a space which are familiar with what is past the reset of humanity’s ill memory. His attempt to provide a meaning to the new concept of Paradise, reborn from the ashes of the old world, just as a Phoenix bird is contoured with lines of such finesse, and with such a distinguished poetic harmony. We can see this construction as a poetry volume cathedral. Moreover still, we find a determining demiurgical dialogue between the poetic self and the Creator. Everything is dressed in the clothes of becoming, of knowledge for accentuating the Good, The Truth and the Beautiful.

My Thoughts
Both cathartic and challenging . . . This collection appears at the exact moment when the nuanced and profound nourishment it offers may be needed most . . . The diversity of emotions represented by Neil McGregor reflects the endless variety of circumstances under which people have had to face this worldwide event . . . In these pages, we experience the enduring capacity of the human imagination to locate meaning, beauty, and witness—even in the direst circumstances.

These words will help to reiterate our vulnerability and capacity of resilience and finding beauty and hope in the world around us in the direst circumstances. The day will come when reading these words again will remind us how it was living through this surreal period and that together we have survived it.

I have been waiting for an artist’s interpretation of the situation around us, and this book did not disappoint. It was so refreshing to recognize thoughtful responses to world-changing, life-altering times that most people are responding to without thought.

This should be one in a series of books... to help us all through the news cycle of history in the making, day to day. As the Intro of the book notes, Neil McGregor captured the essence of the current times describing everything with his inner core.

Highly Recommended!
