Synopsis
Ricky and Tim's Racing Adventure is the first in a series of children's books about a racing car called Ricky and his best friend Tim the tractor. As their friendship grows they learn to work as a team and uncover new talents that help one another.
Ricky's character is loosely based on the Ford GT40 which raced at Le Mans and won in 1966. The story describes Ricky's determination to win against all odds. Ricky's best friend, Tim the Tractor is a character based on the vehicles used by the marshal team who helped drivers if they ever got into trouble whilst racing.
"The Track" is the first book in the Ricky and Tim Racing Adventures series and describes their characters and how Ricky and Tim first met. This children's book series is set to continue with further adventures of best friends Ricky and Tim.
My Thoughts
Friendships are the first relationships we choose for ourselves and often the first ones that we have to work out for ourselves (unlike family relationships, where we’re likely to be following existing relationship patterns). While some kids fall into friendships as easily as blinking, others might find it a little more difficult to build lasting bonds with new peers and classmates. Friendship dramas and fallouts can be a lot to deal with, particularly at a young age, but at the same time, the early friendships children make can sometimes last for the rest of their lives.

In this beautiful book in which Richie Stevenson puts together his favourite sayings and adventurous storyline on friends and friendship. We read a LOT of children’s books in our house and I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur. This is one of the most beautiful, heartwarming and adventurous book I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading to my son. I can’t wait to recommend this to our friends. This text-light book is such a fun peek into childhood. There is so much joy and so much imagination!
Beautiful book! The illustration are phenomenal! And with minimal words the story like is open for interpretation. I love how inclusive it is and how freeing it feels to read it. This is family and friends favorite.
